Hi David, We tried some time ago to get some sponsorship for the NYBB from, I think, Glaxo, the makers of Ventolin, and in order to give some weight to the application we did a rough survey of the members that used Ventolin inhalers. It was about 25% and most said that their Doctors recommended brass or woodwind instruments as a help with asthma. Partly because of the exercise but also because of the development of breath control. Unfortunately the sponsorship application came to nothing but the information gained was interesting. I'm sure we have some medically qualified listers who could provide more information. Cheers Grandad From: David Williams ........But to be serious (for once) may I ask folk's opinions on the effects of " blowing." Some ten years ago I started having a serious chest problem....asthma......I am not claiming that "blowing" has cured me, but is it not possible that regular use of the lungs has improved breathing.? --
