Hi all,

I have to say that we at Kirkby Lonsdale Brass Band always finish our 
concerts with the National Anthem (for which the band stands up, and the 
audience then gets the message! :-)))

Invariably though we always end up playing an encore. Sometimes at the end of 
a concert you just want to get off stage and yet there are those in the 
audience who don't seem to think we should have homes to go to and really 
want their money's worth. We usually have a programme announcer who gives us 
a really good build up throughout the performance, then when it gets to the 
end he wishes everyone a safe journey home. Probably not the most subtle of 
ways to tell people you've finished, but hey it works!
