I bought a Besson Sovereign (silver) tenor horn in 1994.  After say 6 months
a part where my left wrist rests saw the silver coming off, just wearing in
parts.

I was told firstly that I don't hold the instrument correctly, then was told
it was the acid in my skin that was wearing the silver plating.

I guess I can understand the acid in the skin part, but after only 6 months?
Surely not.  Anyway I was majorly disappointed, particularly at the price of
the instruments over here.
