Re: Instrument Gripes

I have to say that every single brass instrument that I have ever played has
lost lacquer very quickly at the places where I touch it. I have thought
about wearing gloves since my hands obviously are a bit sweaty but decided
against it. I have noted that in the literature you receive when you buy an
instrument states that acidic skin can cause the lacquer to peel off, so if
the manufacturers are aware of this problem surely it's up to them to find a
way round it. By the way, if any manufacturers want a guinea pig to test any
solutions on, I play flugel and trumpet!
