Bill Speaking for SA brass band music in the UK, you will only find the Bass Trombone scored in bass clef. Everything else will be in treble. I am pretty sure that non-SA music published for brass band is normally scored similarly. You will come across bass clef euphonium, trombone and bass parts when playing music that was orginally scored for wind and military bands or orchestral groups. I guess, however, that music for brass band does retain a musical uniqueness in it's scoring. My wife who was trained orchestrally and who has taught music for the last 17 years has always found the constant treble clef scoring in brass band music perplexing as she maintains that it doesn't make musical sense not to use a range of clefs depending on the pitch of the instrument and notes it can produce. She is, of course, right, but then she is not a brass band player! Keith SA-Clacton, England --
