Dave, I tried what I assume to be the right formula on my Sovereign Cornet,
although it isn't called Goddards Silver Foam, but Goddards Silver Pad
(Foaming Polish).  Perhaps it's another variant of the same or its name has
changed.  Anyway, it works exactly as you said with a little foam pad to
apply the polish and your description of the end result is entirely
accurate.  No problem with any smell.  I'm sold.
Can't vouch for the milk though.
