Hi I think, like many others, that Martin has a point but expressed it in a way which did not serve his purpose. I would like to ask Martin as to what he would suggest in terms of preparation for entertainment contests that is both practical and legal. Recently at Spennymoor we played 6 pieces and had to provide two scores of each piece and three of the chosen solo, as well as retaining one to conduct from. Some of the publishers contacted had the good sense to allow us to copy the scores given that we agreed to use the scores only for the contest in question and then destroy them after. We have, after all, legitimately bought the music once and I do not see why we should be forced to buy 2 or three additional scores which will serve no long term purpose. --
