Are you being simply modest about your son? Surely he must be good
enough to play the bass, and not just be restricted to cornet playing.  ;-)

I'm not at all sure about the mouth-size issue. I seem to recollect a
trumpet player named Armstrong who was generously endowed in the mouth
department (nickname: Satchmo - which is short for 'satchel-mouth' is it
not?). He seemed to do OK.

(When checking my facts for this posting, I discover that he died in
1971. How time flies. I must be getting old.)
