Re: Stolen Equipment

Wouldn't it be great if there was a web page , where stolen/missing
instruments are listed world-wide so they could be listed. If there is
already, please advise.
We all hear of stolen instruments from time to time and our band has also
had a soprano never returned. We believe it was probably sold outside
Australia. We all known someone who has had an instrument stolen.
The property people involved with bands world-wide could check this prior to
purchasing used instruments. We could put a stop to brass band stolen
instruments being sold. Lets face it, where are they going to market them?
Again, this programme that nigel has setup is great, and if we could all
communicate this way, why not report stolen instruments as well. May be some
eager member, would be prepared to keep a computer record of stolen
instruments. 90% probably would sovereigns.
I am sure a world wide service could also make money out of these listings.
