Thanks to Killian, Alan and William for letting us know that bands are flourishing in Ireland. I have often wondered what has happened to Templemore who used to compete regularly in the Open at Belle Vue, and we used to see Agnes Street on a late night band programme years ago. Regarding stolen instruments I am sure that no bandsmen would even want them....in the case of the ones stolen from my part of the world I think it was just a drug-related opportunistic thing. Now we have expressways reaching us here in wild Wales villains can be in and out quite quickly and so can our rogues). At least maybe bands everywhere will be more concerned about their instruments (even if insured) as I can assure your loss will just be "noted" and given an insurance claim number. Ref. our stolen basses (Yamahas) it is quite possible that the thieves could,nt get rid of them and they have finished up IN our Irish Sea. So....if any of our friends in Ireland find some tubas washed up on the beach they will know where they have come from.! Happy New Year to all. Am still wondering how I woke up on Xmas morning in spare bed with flugel horn on one side and stray black cat on the other !! Cheers. Dave. --
