I'd just thought I'd tell you people how we celebrated the Millennium in
style in 'em hills on t' Pennines as I feel people should share there happy
banding memories. On new years eve many people from the surrounding villages
of saddleworth congregated in Delph the see in the new year. As part of the
celebrations the clock on our library was lit up and we had great
celebrations. The Village was packed with people, many believe that the
turnout was bigger than whit Friday. As the clock stuck twelve a band
marched from one end of the village to the other playing Hail smiling Morn a
well known saddleworth street march. The Band was made up of many people
from  many other bands and people from the Villages all 'dragged up' in the
brass band traditions. It was a memorable night when banding people joined
together to make a memorable scratch band what a brilliant cornet section it
was at that.
I hope you have enjoyed reading about how we celebrated the new year. Has
anyone else got any memorable occasions that they would like to share with
the rest of the list I am sure people would to hear about them
