 Hi all
Do put me right if you disagree but I think that when it comes down to
arraigning where people sit in a band and what part they play, is up to the
conductor and not the people who sit in the wings arranging band jobs so to
speak. When it comes down to "who got here first" (i.e. I was here first
even though you're better than me,) it all gets a bit sad. Banding should be
enjoyable to all, and when people start getting upset about where they have
to sit, it is annoying and often causes unnecessary trouble. I personally
prefer playing the so called 'under parts' because I feel this is what often
holds a band together and supports the rest of the band. Maybe those people
who have this ego thing, people have been talking about, should be sat
playing the 'under parts' thus teaching them valuable lessons about common
decency and moral. Maybe what is needed is a regular shuffle round then
nobody need feel rejected but this could also cause problems about
consistancy oh well it was just an idea.
