Arnica is good stuff. It is herbal, comes in the form of a cream, and is
for bruises. I know quite a few people who use it, including professional
musicians (orchestral trumpet players, etc). It is worth a try, although I
don't know what it would be like on cracked lips.

I have used it myself after rehearsals in the run-up to contests, and it
always gets rid of bruised/swollen lips caused through too much playing (and
as a result of using the total-pressure method!!).

Martin.
