Re: Mini Disc Recording - What Microphone?

Hi Steven,
I use a Sony MZR55 recorder, with an Audio Technica AT822 Stereo Microphone.
This Microphone is more or less The only Professional Stereo Mic you can buy
that can be powered by a battery. Most decent mics need"phantom" power,
either from dedicated power supplies (cost!) or a mixing desk (cost and
hassle). It retails at 299 (!!) but is worth every penny when compared to
setting up 2 mics with power supplies etc.It also uses Microphone cables
instead of the usual c**p associated with stereo mics. It is by no means a
Doyen standard recording, but is easy ,and with practice gets good results.
If you like ,you can mail me privately (acattanach@xxxxxxxxxxx)
Cheers, Andy Cattanach
