The national rules pertaining to the areas say that a bandsperson can only
play at ONE regional contest in any given year. As for transfer deadlines, I
would aim to get the paperwork to the registry by the Thursday (4 weeks and
2 days) before the area weekend in question.

E.g.
Northern Area Contest is 18/19 March 2000.
Transfer deadline is Friday 18th February but as I say to be on the safe
side get the paperwork to the registry by Thursday 17th February.
