I agree! It was a wonderful festival, the highlights for me being Gourlays'
playing (both concertos), Pat Sheridan doing something serious (the
Ellerby), and the young Japanese Euphonium player, who was outstanding in
every aspect of his playing.
Fodens were fantastic, but a bit loud for the hall (if I dare say it!) for
me, and the  talk by Gerhard Meinl on the manufacture process of brass
instruments was an eye opener.
Any news on another festival yet !?!
