I can offer the following general advice. You should approach an authorised person for specific advice. It is always best to go get a series of competitive quotes via a broker or by responding to an adverisment from a company who advertises for direct business. It also may be cheaper to cover the instruments by an extension to another policy such as a household policy or a policy held by an organisation for its property. There are also issues on the extent of the cover e.g.. Loss of property, accidental damage, all risks, secondhand value versus new for old. Vaue of excess i.e. the amount the insurer does not pay in the event of a claim. You will find some adverts for insurance in the programme for the recent RNSM Tuba Festival. Finally check out the reputation the insurer has for claims handling. This is the ultimate test! There is a code of conduct for selling general insurance and a ombudsman scheme in the event of a dispute. --
