Hello all--
I hope you can help.
I have an 11 year old trumpet student that develops what looks like a
blood blister (about 1/4" in size) in the centre of his top lip while
playing.  He doesn't appear to be "pressing too hard"-- there is no
telltale mouthpiece ring around his lips.  He says that it doesn't hurt
too bad, but it definitely looks pretty scary (deep red and puffy).
Any one have any suggestions?  I'd hate to lose this player, he's one of
the best I've got.
