Yes Bill us old 'uns rehearsing can have a deterrent effect. In my case...its with neighbours I think, as some have moved since I took up playing my "bazooka" flugel horn. Except for a stray cat !! Who must be of a very discerning musical disposition...for she LIKES brass band music and for over 12 months has been coming round on Tuesday afternoons to hear Fred and I practice, sitting on the best easy chair and listening intently. She has now moved in permanently. You may wonder how a poor old soul came to be watching TV at 6.30 a.m....a very good programme about the old Cyfarthfa band from Wales. I have the cat to thank for this. At about 6 a.m. as I slept soundly dreaming I was playing flugel with Black Dyke the flaming cat leapt on my chest and tapped me on the nose. Swearing profusely I chased her downstairs and she lead me into the living room and sat staring at the silent T.V. So I switched it on and lo and behold there was this band, and I managed to tape most of the prog. If only the damn cat could play...we could have a trio ! Keep on "bazookering". Cheers. Dave. --
