I always find entering a contest stage for the first time to be a daunting
experience. The layout of the stage, the ambience of the hall and the
acoustic properties are all different to what one finds in the normal band
room.

I think it would be an excellent idea for bands to be able to hire the
contest room for rehearsals, unfortunately, there are so many bands that
there would be long queues with some bands ending up waiting for months,
therefore defeating the object of the exercise.

It would also be a great idea for raising money for the brass band
authorities.
