If you're so convinced that rehearsing in the contest
hall wouldn't have given you any advantage whatsoever,
then surely there is no point in you doing it?

'Getting a feel for the hall' as you put it, is surely
some form of advantage?

It doesn't really bother me personally as I'm sure
that you can't book the Winter Gardens for a
rehearsal, but if it were possible I would certainly
see it as being unfair.
