At contests in the Netherlands it is most usual to play a short piece of
music on stage, before you start playing the contestpieces. Bands play a
hymn, a march or another short piece.
Not so at the National Dutch Brassband Championship, they decided to cancel
this habit several years ago. I think it was because of lack of time, but
may be they were just looking how the British did it ....
