Howdy!
    I once played on a King 4B tenor trombone, at the top of the slide it had
a spring.  This spring i thought was an excellent idea!!!  Once you had tuned
the instrument with the slide at rest at the bottom of the spring.  After
that when you played a top G or top C you could pull the slide into the
spring which allowed you to sharpen the note just that bit extra.  WHY!!!!!
have they stopped putting the spring into the slide on new troms?
