Lawrence had a unique (I hope) way of solving the "drying up on stage" problem.
Leamington Spa, WMBBA contest, many years ago. Banks's Brewery Band were playing
Journey Into Freedom, we were approaching the last few bars. Lawrence was dry,
he also had third valve slide "water"......

The dehydration wasn't due to nerves, as I recall :-)

We won that day.
