I must admit that many of my offerings on lip remedies (handed down by
father) have not met with too much enthusiasm on this list. I still say it
is all a matter of taste.

Cold sores start with a tingle on the lip. The natural reaction is to run
your tongue over your lip to either 1) see what is tingling or 2) see if it
is still there. This compounds the problem and helps it to spread.

My fathers remedy was to rub a little bit of cow dung across your lips. It
didn't heal the cold sore but it sure stopped you licking your lips.
