As for the bar, one of the enjoyable aspects of the Area contest is the opportunity to socialise with other banders, people who you only see a couple of times a year, and in general, the focal point for this socialising is the bar. So in the context of area contest venues, it is relevant and worthy of a mention. Our band does not exist to contest - we only do 1 or 2 a year. We set much more store on our public concert performances, and on enjoying our time together at rehearsals. But despite this, it does hurt being kicked in the doo-dahs when you have worked hard at something. Why don't you hang in there, and just delete the messages that don't interest you? The list can always do with a broad spectrum of opinions to give it interest and balance. Jud. --
