John,
Just one point of clarification,  just in case I have not interpreted your remarks correctly.
You refer to a tenor horn as an alto horn in North America.
May I please point out that we in Canada refer to an Eb Tenor Horn as such, a tenor horn. The Baritone also plays the
tenor parts in much of the Salvation Army Music thus it plays the 'tenor'  part in our music.
HOWEVER, and I do not intend to be yelling, just emphasizing, our friends to the south of the Forty Ninth - those of
the US of A, call the Eb Horn, an Alto Horn.
Just clarifying the difference between the two countries, we are you know still supposed to be a country. :>)
