most people don't play regularly enough to do justice to themselves on a
24AW.  This is the deepest mp. that you can buy from Bach and you need to be
in top form to play with one properly.  I would suggest that people who
don't play every day or so (!) try a 24W (same width but not so deep) as the
extra depth can make tuning difficult for the 'not so in practice!'.
One thing to take into account is the sound you make in relation to the rest
of the section.  To sound great you must blend and blend well - any sound
that sticks out will totally spoil the sound that a well blended bass
section can make.
