I think I should maybe clarify the question!! Without doubt Ian Bousfield Is the best trombone player that Britain has, but he is NOT an active brass band member, it's been a long long time since he's sat down and played a test piece (correct me if I'm wrong) If I'm not mistaken, we are talking about Brass band trombone players, who is the best of the current crop!!
