I had always thought that James Watson played the trumpet solo on Penny
Lane but a CD called The Canadian Brass, The CBC Years, mostly of their
radio broadcasts states that Bill Phillips, a founding member, played
it. Can anyone on the list confirm this for sure one way or the other. I
am reviewing the CD for a community arts billboard and would like to be
correct before I go public.
