[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index] Re: Music for Schools foundation
As one of the founders of Music for Schools I thought my imput might be
appropriate.
MfSF (a registered charity) teaches over 16,000 children in the UK to play
brass and woodwind instruments. It employs nearly 200 teachers who visit
schools all around the country - who previously regretably had no music
teaching at all.
Around half the pupils play brass instruments and we have some 120 brass
teachers - many of whom are active in the band world & some are fellow
subscribers to this list !
As a result many more children are being introduced to the joys of music
making and specifically brass playing. Indeed, in some areas MfSF has
developed its programme in conjuction with the local band(s).
If you want to raise any issue about individual pupils, or the scheme in a
particular area of the county, you can e-mail Sarah Loates (head of
service) at headofservice@xxxxxxxxxxxx As if there are specific problems
(which no music service of our size is immune to) they need to be addressed.
