There has been some dispute over the future of the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone
following redevelopment plans being rejected because of a small minority of
people concerned about the enviromental effects on the Lower Leas area.

However, discussions have taken place and revised proposals agreed to the extent
that the Leas Cliff Hall is now undergoing a 2million refurbishment to improve
the threatre, concert and conferencing facilities already in place.

With any luck this should be complete by the autumn which would mean the annual
Folkestone contest can still take place.
