Re: Music for Schools foundation

Hi Gareth

Thanks for replying to my post......

..but surely you have something better to say than merely dismissing what I
passed on?

My post was in relation to misgivings expressed by several others on the
list over the standards of tuition provided by the Music for Schools
Foundation, and the supposition, also expressed by other than myself, that
the foundation and Norman's were one and the same. I think that the alleged
words used when your shop phone is answered tend to support that proposition
and the point therefore deserves a proper response to the list members as a
whole.

It is also of concern to the members that, when they submit an instrument to
anyone for repair, they can be confident that such repair will be
competently completed, therefore deserving of a proper response.

As you monitored my posting, did you also receive the postings from other
listees regarding the standard of tuition and the issue of using tutors
(probably very good ones in their own field) who have little or no knowledge
of the instrument family used by the pupil? Given the extent to which
Normans (or the MSF) have stepped into (and, no doubt profited from) the
peripatetic void, this question is of great importance to list members and
parents of music pupils alike and I'd venture that it warrants a
constructive response.

So come on, Gareth. You have kindly sponsored a discussion group; let's
discuss, not dismiss.

Thanks. Next time I'm in the Burton area, I might just take you up on that.

Cheers
