It has been confirmed in a letter received from the SCABA Secretary yesterday
that the Autumn Contest at Folkestone will definitely take place at the Leas
Cliff Hall, Folkestone, on Sat/Sun 14/15th October 2000. After months of
doubt and uncertainty revised plans have just been agreed by all parties for
a major refurbishment and building extension scheme. Work is due to start
immediately and the hall reopen just in time for our visit in October.

Shepway District Council and Appolo Leisure have had to compromise on the
original plans but once the final stage is completed next year Leas Cliff
Hall will be able to rightly boast to be one of Kent's leading venues for
theatre, conference and banquets.

The Schedule for the Contest can now be prepared and it will be circulated to
bands in a few weeks time.
