Very interested to hear about this form of fundraising. It's the first time
I've heard of a band doing this. I'm in the Victoria Police hear in
Australia and a few years ago a police member from the country wanted to
raise funds for kids cancer research. He decided to shave his head for
money and got the idea from the hair loss cancer sufferers go through during
chemo. This has spread from one country police station, right across the
state and now the country. It has also spread internationally and was known
as Crop-a-cop. Firebrigades, ambulance services and other emergency
services have since joined in and it is now known as Bluey Day. The basic
idea is you raise $1,000 minimum for your head. Police from all over Aus
get together in one place and have a mass head shave. Millions have been
raised over the past few years and it all started with one person. Just
thought you might want to hear about this for future inspiration.
Note to any members of the Victorian Bands League reading. Perfect idea for
fund raising.
