As someone who was introduced to the delights of Pershore for the very first
time this year, having been called in at the last minute to assist one of
the championship section bands taking part, I must add my congratulations to
the organisers for a terrific day.
However I must disagree with some comments voiced on these pages by Shelley
Hill.
Of course one of the star attractions was Flowers, that goes without saying.
But that comment was surely not meant to take away from the performances by
the remainder of the bands taking part.
Surely the compere was right. As for suggesting that the championship
section bands should not take part, why? Surely they are the icing on
Pershore's much bejewelled crown.
