Yes they are Phil, but surely it's insulting to suggest that the audience
couldn't recognise the difference between Flowers and Muller Cleobury
Mortimer (and I heard and enjoyed the latter band) or Rolls or Sovereign.
This being the case, why shouldn't Flowers as SW Area champions etc etc be
given a special mention. It doesn't take anything away from Mullers,
Bretforton, Halesowen Brass and all the other quality performances, if
Flowers get a special mention. The size of the audience (ie large) spoke
volumes for each band.
Also, let us not forget that we are criticizing a festival whose committee
has actively sought to invite bands of all sections for 11 years. Something
worth applauding not lambasting.
