Why does that go without saying? I realise I am repeating myself, but in my
opinion, there is more to entertaining and banding than rankings. Why is it
assumed that the highest ranking band is automatically the 'star
attraction'?
I think the fact that 'that comment was surely not meant to take away from
the performances by the remainder of the bands taking part' is debatable. I
was not the only person who heard that comment who took it to mean exactly
that.
And I was not suggesting that the championship bands do not take part; I
suggest you re-read my message. What I was suggesting was that the rest of
us should maybe leave the championship bands (the 'star attractions') to it
next year, and see what kind of a day Pershore is without the other section
bands.
