to be quite honest i would seriously consider buying second hand cornet .
i have played brand new instruments and it has took me a while to 'break
them in '
i have a sovereign cornet and a cortois cornet, and personally find the
cortois a nicer instrument although the valves on the sov are top class .
    i know this may seem obvious anyway but it really is down to personal
choice dont just have a five minute go  take your time its a long term
investment , and also dont just go for  a new one as second hand ones have
normally overcome all the problems would get with a new one
choose wisely
