I'd appreciate music suggestions for a concert that includes music of a
religious nature. I'd actually like to make the whole program religious in
nature and include a couple of championship standard pieces (New Jerusalem,
Essence of Time for example - Resurgam is probably an obvious choice!!!)
plus arrangements and lighter, less serious selections (Light Walk etc).
Solo suggestions and good hymn tune arrangements would also be appreciated
(Crimond by Goff Richards is a good hymn arrangement).
As it's getting closer to Christmas, what's good in the that repertoire
these days? I've been out of the band movement for a couple of years and
notice quite a few additions to the repertoire. When I lived in England I
purchased a substantial amount of Christmas music for a CD recording and a
great deal of it was poor. Whilst I know you pay your money and take your
chance I'd really appreciate comments from fellow list members on what's
good.
