When I started playing, my teacher told me the conventional ta-ta-ka. As time went on, though, I "fell into" ta-ka-ta and have been using it for the last 25 years. I think I prefer it because the final 'ta' kicks into the first 'ta' with more emphasis which helps keep the time in place. k --
