Re: Indian Cornets

Hi Keith,

I haven't tried Indian but I have tried Chinese! On
the surface they seemed ok, but it turned out they had
a leadpipe that was too big for a standard cornet
mouthpiece and too small for a trumpet!! Also the
"stays" (if that's the correct term) were positioned
badly and would cause sores on players hands after a
while. I don't know what Indian cornets are like, they
might be ok, but I suggest you check them closely
before buying.

However, our training band bought a number of Elkhart
cornets over a year ago. While one of the cheapest
cornets on the market, we have found them to be better
than some of the more expensive student models.

Just out of interest, what brand are the Indian
cornets, and how much a they selling for?

N.
