If you are referring to those things with the hexagonal valve tops that
appear on antique stalls, don't waste your money. I haven't seen one of
those that blows properly or that could be made to blow properly without
rebuilding from scratch. They should be labelled "for decoration only".
Apologies if there IS a respectable Indian make I am not aware of!

I advise my pupils to go for the Yamahas as entry level instruments if they
are buying new. They cost a little more than the Czech or Chinese ones, but
they are very well designed instruments capable of a good performance.
