The Philip Jones 10 piece was made up of 4 trumpets, 1 horn, 4 trombones and 1 tuba. There is a fair bit of stuff written for that combo and some of the PJB music that was not published is now being put out. The Canadian Brass from time to time do concerts with 2 standard brass quintettes and there is probably some charts available on their website. There is not a single standard combo though. The PJB setup was totally accidental in origin but very successful in performance. We did a PJB concert this spring and it worked well. These are all large symphony bore horns, not the cornets, tenor/alto horn and smaller trombones more common to the brass band. Regards. Dave Buckley --
