Ian, If you are saying what you appear to be saying, then you have two choices; 1 prove it. 2. If you can't prove it shut up before you get sued. If you can't prove what you are implying but you believe it, then you will have to leave banding and find another hobby, because you will never be happy. With regard to the conductor of the open and national champions, you obviously do not know him, because if you did you would know that not only would he have nothing whatsoever to do with anyone who tried to fix a contest, he would also walk away from the contest if he thought it was fixed. If you don't think that the contests are properly organised and run then get yourself onto the area and national committees and help with the organising. Spend weeks and weeks slaving over the paperwork, be at the contest venue at the crack of dawn and stay till midnight. Then the next week read all sorts of accusations from some pratt that didn't agree with the result, didn't hear all the bands, can't read a score and has no idea of how much effort and preparation has been put in by any band other than his own. You sure did offend me, and I don't think I'm in a minority. Grandad --
