Hi All, Just thought I'd put in the results of the Championship section: 1) Kibworth (played Year of the Dragon, wagged by John Berryman) 2) Staffordshire Band (played English Heritage, wagged by David Maplestone) 3) City of Oxford Band (played Paganini, wagged by Nigel Taken) Roy Curran adjudicated. Nice to see him again. I'm not sure what the points were.... Only 3 bands took part.... Just a thought though that the prize money isn't much, could that explain it? I listened to all 3 performances (stand back in amazement those who know me!) and Staffs and Kibworth were a close call. I favoured Staffs interpretation (nice to see Di Maplestone with a stick in his hand, such a great conductor to watch) but I think the result went with Kibworth because of the superb middle movement trombone solo. Absolutely terrific sound and control. Well done! Congratulations also go to Jackfield Elcock Reisen band for winning the first section. Sorry I haven't got the rest of the results. Anyway, a great time was had by all and I had a fantastic curry when I got home.... What better way to spend a Sunday? Thanks All, Steve Bailey ... /| >--|||===< | (___) \| --
