RE: Cymbals



Pat,

Your best bet is probably to go into the shop with the person who'll be
playing with them and make some noise.  If you find a nice friendly music
shop they might even let you try them with the band, or let you buy one set
then swap them for others to try different sounds.

Real clash cymbals can be very heavy - I'd suggest getting 18" or above
sized ones, and a decent make (Zildjian / Sabian - Never played with any
Paiste ones).  This is why it's a good idea for the percussionist to go play
with them, if only to feel the weight.

To be honest, I can't even remember what we have, but they sound nice...
