Re: Sinfonietta Pastorale

We too played it for the first time last week and were little disappointed;
it could be very dull after the novelty of the second movement has worn off.
(does anybody else playing 2nd cornet else find that this movement has very
few places to recuperate after 50+ bars of minim-esque notes that should be
held right up to the next bar ?)

The A section test piece for EABBA (I hope I got the As and Bs the right way
around ;-) - The Three Musketeers by George Hespe-
is a nice change however, if a little like Divertimento (a B section piece a
few years ago- 2 I think).

Is it normal tho for second/third cornets to be expected to triple tongue
?.....the back line cornets in our band are quite young and it is going to
be a challenge to play the tripleted semiquavers of the 4th movement. Any
tips from you peops out there ?
