Mike was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the
Australia Day honors list last weekend.

Well deserved


Gosh seeimg Mike Butcher's name brought back some memories. Mike was a
Student Bandmaster when I was a pupil at Kneller Hall (Royal Military School
of Music). An excellent trombonist and a nice guy. It is good that he has
received an award. I trust he is still well and still involved in music.
