At the Durham County Brass Band Association contest
held at the Spennymoor Leisure Centre yesterday,Ever
Ready conducted by Brian Grant took the first prize
with 190 points playing 'Essence of Time' by Peter
Graham.3 points behind came Fishburn followed by
Newcastle Brown Ale Band in 3rd.
Ever Ready also won best soprano cornet Les Palmer,
best solo trombone Chris Bentham and also best
percussion section Anne Armstrong,Bob Stephenson and
Chris John.
A fine end to a slightly miserable day ie:northern
weather.
